Leeds United ready Nico Elvedi transfer in new £10m update

Leeds United want to sign Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach in the January transfer window, according to GiveMeSport.

The outlet reported via its website on 31 December that the Whites are considering a move for the centre-back after he was made available for up to £10million.

Elvedi, though, is likely to wait to see if Daniel Farke’s side will earn promotion to the Premier League before making the move.

While Elvedi has not entirely ruled out a move to Elland Road, it appears he will only make the switch if Premier League football is on offer.

It will likely be only a matter of time before the West Yorkshire outfit, who are placed atop the Championship table, are back in the top flight.

With a promotion seemingly likely, it remains to be seen if Daniel Farke can convince Elvedi to join the Whites early in January.

Farke is reportedly keen to sign a centre-back who can also slot in at right-back and Elvedi certainly fits the bill.

The Switzerland international has made nine league appearances for Monchengladbach this season, scoring and assisting a goal each in the process.

Furthermore, agreeing on transfer terms with Monchengladbach will likely be straightforward as Leeds United have already done business with them.

The Championship club sent Max Wober on a season-long loan to the Bundesliga side last year.
