Leeds United ready Djaoui Cisse deal as summer exit on cards

Leeds United have made contact for Stade Rennais midfielder Djaoui Cisse ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Whites have enquired about the 22-year-old who is also attracting interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayer Leverkusen, according to Media Foot.

On 26 February, the news outlet reported that the France Under-21 international is in demand after establishing himself in the Ligue 1 outfit’s first-team setup.

It’s been claimed that Rennes manager Franck Haise is focused on the end of the season for now, but Cisse’s exit hasn’t been ruled out in the coming months.

Djaoui Cisse season in numbers amid Leeds United interest

Cisse made his way through the youth ranks at Rennes before establishing himself in the senior squad last season.

The midfielder has now become a much more prominent fixture in the Ligue 1 club’s plans, starting in 12 of his 18 league appearances in the current campaign.

Cisse has scored just one goal since making his debut for the French outfit, but he’s shown a lot of potential at Les Rouges et Noirs.

The youngster’s Sofascore heat map in Ligue 1 this season shows him primarily occupying the left-midfield area, with 81 per cent passing accuracy and 40 per cent dribbling success rate.

As for the Frenchman’s defensive contributions, he has recorded 1.7 tackles, recovered the ball 2.7 times and won 50 per cent of his duels per game.

Daniel Farke to open door for Elland Road player exit after Djaoui Cisse transfer

Daniel Farke has done an exceptional job at Leeds this season as they look like one of the favourites to avoid Premier League relegation.

The German manager hasn’t been shy about allowing players to cement their place in the starting lineup, with the likes of Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev coming in and out of the team this season.

With the Japan international struggling for game time in recent matches, his future will surely be up in the air in the summer.

The West Yorkshire outfit may sanction Tanak’s exit from Elland Road if they were to bolster their engine room with Cisse, and the situation in LS11 will surely be one to watch closely.
