Leeds United ready bid to sign James McAtee as Man City sale stance emerges
Leeds United are interested in signing James McAtee from Manchester City this summer if they are promoted to the Premier League, according to GIVEMESPORT.
A report from Danny Rust (24 May) has suggested that the Whites are set to battle with Southampton for his signature post-Play-Off final.
McAtee isn’t in Pep Guardiola’s plans moving forward with the Champions so a move away is likely during the transfer window.
He is currently on £10,000-a-week at the Etihad on a contract which runs until 2026 which could inflate the price that City demands.
The report suggests that £20m may be enough for the Citizens to let the 21-year-old go on a permanent transfer.
Should Leeds United sign James McAtee?
The Englishman has featured for a struggling Sheffield United side this season but has still managed to impress onlookers.
He featured from the start 20 times in the Premier League while he also made 11 additional substitute appearances [FotMob].
In that time he scored three goals and provided three assists which ranks fourth in the Blades’ squad for goal involvement.
He has performed well in his second loan spell at Bramall Lane after completing his first spell with the club in the Championship last season.

As a product of the Man City academy, he has plenty of useful facets to his game which could make him a useful signing for Daniel Farke ahead of next season.
McAtee has the versatility to play on the wing, as a number ten or even as a second striker if playing with a more physical forward, like Ollie McBurnie for the Blades.
He may not prove to be any better than Georginio Rutter however so £20m feels like a stretch when other areas also need strengthening.
