Leeds United ready approach to sign Josh Tymon amid development at Stoke City
Leeds United are considering a late move for Stoke City defender Josh Tymon but face competition from Swansea City, according to TeamTalk.
The website reported (24 August) that the Whites are in the market to bolster their defence before the window shuts, with Yorkshire-born full-back desired at Elland Road.
The 24-year-old joined Stoke in 2017 and following a series of loan moves became a regular for the Cottagers, but has since slipped down the pecking order at the bet365 Stadium.

Caution
While Tymon looks to be a decent option for Daniel Farke’s side, his recent injury record could make Leeds fans doubt the move.
Last season, he missed a combined 21 games for Stoke due to a recurring ankle injury. While he did manage the final stretch of the campaign last season, an injury-prone recruit is not what Leeds needs currently.
That being said, if he can remain fit he could prove a good coup for the Whites. Per Transfermarkt, his versatility has allowed him to play all across the left flank, including left-back, left-mid and left-wing.
He loves receiving the ball in advanced positions and can make a real impact on the attacking output. He received 6.16 progressive passes per 90 (91st percentile) while his 0.96 shots per 90 (82nd percentile) show his dynamism for a left-back. (FBRef)

Leeds aim to bring in a hoard of new signings before the end of the window, with LeedsLive claiming (23 August) that the Whites want at least four new faces at Elland Road.
But Leeds must beware of the lurking Swansea, who could challenge Farke’s side in their attempts to replace the departed Ryan Manning.
With riches of Championship experience, Tymon could be a quality operator for Farke. If Stoke do not see him in their future plans, a deal could be struck.
But Leeds fans’ hearts would drop each time he went in for a challenge with his injury past in mind.
