Leeds United ‘rapidly’ close in on Igor Paixao transfer as £30m bid tabled
Leeds are attempting to complete a sensational swoop for Feyenoord talent Igor Paixao.
The Whites’ interest has been reported for weeks, but French club Marseille had looked to be leading the race for the Brazilian winger.
But with the Ligue 1 outfit struggling to agree a fee with Feyenoord, Leeds appear to have made their move.
Transfer activity at Elland Road has exploded into life in recent days, with Anton Stach’s arrival from Hoffenheim being confirmed, and goalkeeper Lucas Perri set to join from Lyon.
Paixao could now be next.

Leeds officially approach Feyenoord
According to Feyenoord Transfermarkt (24 July), Leeds have now made official contact with the Dutch club with an opening offer worth around £30million.
The bid, according to the outlet, already dwarves Marseille’s highest offer and indicates a “serious attempt” to sign Paixao.
The winger is yet to agree personal terms with the Premier League club, but sources close to the negotiations say the situation is “developing rapidly.”
Paixao would be a major coup for Leeds
Paixao was among Europe’s most productive wingers last season.
The Brazilian scored a jaw-dropping 18 goals and provided 19 assists in all competitions for Feyenoord, with seven of those contributions coming in the Champions League.
As Leeds fans would be happy to admit, his arrival at Elland Road would be seen as a major coup for the newly-promoted side.
Mainly a left-sided winger, Paixao can often be seen drifting into the middle of the pitch to unleash deadly long-ranged strikes on his right foot.

But the Brazilian is also a hugely accomplished dribbler and is happy to drive to the by-line, often beating his man to set up a teammate.
For Leeds, Paixao would likely line up on the left side, with Wilfried Gnonto or Daniel James taking their place on the right.
Joel Piroe would be just one of the players to benefit from the winger’s arrival, with Brenden Aaronson also sure to enjoy linking up with the possible star signing.
Paixao would be just the latest signing that will surely fill Leeds fans with confidence ahead of their Premier League return, with Elland Road set to welcome several new players over the coming weeks.
