Leeds United push for new transfer as Tyler Adams saga takes another twist

Leeds United are still pushing for another new midfield transfer despite Tyler Adams currently remaining at the club, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The newspaper shared on its website on 17 August that the American has been at Thorp Arch despite Bournemouth believing they had triggered his expired release clause.

There had been suggestions this summer that Leeds are targeting a move for Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, who is training separately from the rest of the squad in Glasgow, with his £5million pricetag potentially dropping [Football Scotland, 16 August].

Adams staying is a huge boost

Should Adams remain at the club this season, as has been suggested following a breakdown in personal terms in his proposed move to Bournemouth, it will be a huge boost to the club’s promotion hopes.

Rumours all summer have linked Adams with a move to some of England’s top clubs, most notably Chelsea who triggered his £20million release clause before opting to look elsewhere, in a huge display of how highly regarded the US Men’s National Team captain is.

His current injury, which he picked up in March, will keep him out for at least another month, as he is expected to return after the September international break, but when he does return, it will be a huge relief to all around Elland Road.

Leeds pushing for a deal for a new central midfielder will also be good news, as the club look to add depth to their squad following the arrivals of Ampadu, Joe Rodon and Karl Darlow this summer.

Depth is a crucial factor for teams looking to gain promotion from the Championship, and adding more strength to this Leeds side will only prove to be a benefit.
