Leeds United pursuit of James Justin dealt blow after crushing news emerges

Leicester City right-back James Justin may not be able to complete a move to Leeds United this transfer window.

The 27-year-old has been a key player for the Foxes over the years, but his current contract expires at the end of the season.

Justin has emerged as a target at Leeds, with the Whites advancing in talks for the defender’s arrival before the end of August.

The West Yorkshire outfit may now have to look at alternative targets as developments at the East Midlands outfit.

Justin transfer to Leeds United in doubt after injury at Leicester

Leeds are waiting to hear back on the severity of Justin’s injury at Leicester, according to Zinny Boswell.

The Sky Sports journalist revealed on X on 18 August that the 27-year-old’s move to Elland Road is now uncertain after he was substituted with a knock in the Foxes’ 2-1 defeat at Deepdale against Preston North End on 16 August.

It’s been claimed that should a deal for the English right-back fall through, the West Yorkshire outfit have alternative targets on their radar already.

The Telegraph previously reported on 1 August that Justin’s value at the King Power Stadium currently stands at £6million.

Justin alternatives: Who can Daniel Farke get at Elland Road?

Daniel Farke may be fuming at Leicester for playing Justin in their Championship loss despite Leeds being in talks for his signature.

The Whites have bolstered their backline admirably this summer, but may need to make additional signings before Deadline Day.

Isaac Schmidt wants to leave Elland Road, and Justin could have potentially been the perfect player to bolster the right side of defence.

Leeds will now have to look for other options in the final weeks of the window or keep the Switzerland international.

Bournemouth’s Max Aarons was linked with the West Yorkshire outfit in recent weeks, but the defender has moved to Rangers on loan.

Justin’s situation will certainly be one to keep an eye on as the Elland Road faithful would have arguably liked to see him in LS11.
