Leeds United pursue new forward signing as Dor Turgeman update shared

Leeds United are weighing up whether to follow up their initial interest in Dor Turgeman, according to the Daily Mail.

The British news outlet reported via its website on Tuesday (17 December) that Leeds scouts have been impressed by what they have seen from Turgeman.

The Whites have been showing an interest in the Maccabi Tel Aviv attacker, who has been described as a “beast on the pitch” by his manager.

However, no official offer has yet been tabled and United are still debating whether to pursue a move or look elsewhere, with Louie Barry another option [Sunday Mirror, 15 December].

Who is Maccabi Tel Aviv attacker Dor Turgeman?

The reason Turgeman is described as a “beast” is down to his strong worth ethic and his willingness to press from high up the pitch.

That will go down well with Daniel Farke, but what he needs more than anything right now is a pure goalscorer.

Turgeman has netted five times in 11 league outings this term, which is a pretty decent return even if the level of the Israeli Premier League is not the highest.

More exciting is the fact the 21-year-old has also found the net in the Europa League this term and scored three goals in four Euro qualifiers for Israel in their most recent campaign.

If Turgeman can combine chipping in with goals with an ability to do the basics under Farke, he appears to be the right choice on the face of it.

Leeds want to sign Louie Barry from Aston Villa

Aston Villa youngster Barry is a different type of option, and represents a risk of a different kind, but either way supporters will just be eager to get a new attacker on board come January.

And if that happens, it could well spell the end for Patrick Bamford, with a surprise next destination on the cards.
