Leeds United prepare themselves for an improved Jack Harrison bid from Newcastle

Leeds are preparing themselves for an imminent improved bid from Newcastle for English winger Jack Harrison, according to Ben Jacobs.

The club is reluctant to lose Harrison and would look for a substantial fee for the winger, valuing him around £35m.

However, Jacobs has now reported that Newcastle are expected to approach the club with an improved offer, however, the Magpies are reluctant to overpay for the player.

Jacobs said: “I am told that Newcastle will go back to Leeds with an improved offer for Jack Harrison, but Jesse Marsch really doesn’t want to lose him.

“Leeds will be tough negotiators now that Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips have been sold.

“£35m is the price tag to make Leeds even consider a sale and they may demand more.”

Harrison on the move?

With an imminent bid incoming from Newcastle, Leeds’ resolve will be mightily tested and they may have to dig their heels in to keep the player.

Harrison is a player who has been a hugely successful signing for the Whites since moving to the Yorkshire club from Manchester City.

After spells at New York City and Middlesborough, he joined the club, initially on loan, before that move was made permanent in 2021.

Altogether, he has made 166 appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals and providing 22 assists, establishing himself as a hard worker and consistent offensive threat.

At the age of 25, Harrison is still yet to reach his prime years, and could still evolve as a player, becoming an even more reliable and dangerous player.

After losing Phillips and Raphinha, losing another key player would not be ideal for the club, and it is easy to see why the club are so reluctant to part ways with the former Man City winger.
