Leeds United prepare bid for Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis

Leeds United are preparing a bid for Nottingham Forest forward Emmanuel Dennis, according to Nigerian publication Complete Sports.

Dennis joined Nottingham Forest from Watford last summer but has failed to make a desired impact for Steve Cooper, scoring just two goals and providing two assists from 19 Premier League appearances.

Complete Sports, the number one Nigerian daily national newspaper, has shared that the Whites are looking to bolster their attacking ranks this summer after their relegation to the Championship.

However, they will have to offer a “decent fee” to bring the 25-year-old to Elland Road this window.

Proven goalscorer

Although Dennis failed to hit the ground running at Nottingham Forest, there is a sense that he may have been misused and not trusted properly last season.

Cooper’s side had a wealth of players at their disposal, with a vast number of attackers on their payroll, so it was always going to be hard to stand out from the crowd and score consistent goals.

From a Leeds perspective, this deal could be a great one to pursue – as long as the price tag isn’t too extortionate.

The eight-capped Nigerian international is a proven Premier League goalscorer, having netted ten goals in his final season as a Watford player, so there is no doubt that he could hack it at Elland Road.

There have been a few questions about his attitude over the past few seasons, so this remains a worry, but if the Whites lose the likes of Rodrigo and Willy Gnonto, there are far worse options to pursue.

In other Leeds United news, Robin Koch could be about to depart Elland Road on loan.
