Leeds United player ‘Certainly’ won’t play in Championship next season, can leave for £2.5m
Diego Llorente will “certainly” not play for Leeds United in the Championship next season, according to Siamo La Roma.
Writing on their website (27 June), the Italian news outlet report that the defender has no interest in returning to Elland Road and the Whites are keen to move him on this summer permanently.
The Spain international is value at around £2.5million, and Roma are preparing a three-year contract for him should they choose to push ahead with their permanent move for the 30-year-old.
Diego Llorente to leave Leeds United
In one of the most unsurprising bits of news of the summer, Llorente is sure to not be a Leeds player by the time the transfer window closes.
After signing a new contract he was quickly allowed to leave on loan and has been at Roma ever since, becoming an important part of their defence.
But his game was never really suited to the Premier League or English football, and considering his wages an exit always seemed like the most obvious solution for everyone involved.

Leeds still want to get a bit of money back for him to help go towards their budget, but Daniel Farke won’t have been planning for him to be part of the squad and this news will shock absolutely nobody.
Llorente’s time in England was a flop and it’s best for everyone at this point that he moves on permanently and everyone can go on with their lives.
In other Leeds news, a clause has emerged as the Whites want to sign a new double-winning attacker.
