Leeds United opening bid ready to sign Kristensen, personal terms no issue – Fabrizio Romano

Leeds United will have no issue agreeing personal terms to sign Red Bull Salzburg right-back Rasmus Kristensen, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Writing via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday evening (31 May), the Guardian journalist reported that the Whites have an opening bid ready to sign the 24-year-old Denmark international.

Leeds have already signed Brenden Aaronson from Salzburg since the season ended and are now lining up a second raise on the Austrian giants.

Swift business

While we don’t expect the Kristensen deal to be wrapped up as soon as the move for Aaronson was, it’s promising to see Victor Orta and Jesse Marsch moving at a lightning pace at the start of this summer.

We’re yet to reach June and Leeds are doing bits in the transfer market signing USA international Aaronson to add to their midfield and now Kristensen to fix their right-back issue.

Luke Ayling is out until the autumn due to him undergoing surgery while Stuart Dallas is unlikely to play again this year due to a fractured femur.

Cody Drameh is the only other right-back option and he spent the second half of the season on loan at Cardiff.

If Kristensen comes in then we’d expect Drameh to be kept around at Leeds until Dallas is fit again before potentially being loaned out in January.

Kristensen is a very attack-minded right-back and we’re excited to see how this transfer story develops in the coming days.

He scored 10 goals and supplied eight assists in 44 appearances for Salzburg this season.

It’s fair to say he’ll fit right in at Elland Road if he can keep up those numbers on these shores.

In other Leeds United news, Romano has also shared a big update on Raphinha’s situation at Elland Road on Tuesday.
