Leeds United open to Jack Harrison exit after relegation confirmed – Beren Cross

Leeds United will not stand in the way of Jack Harrison leaving the club this summer should they receive an acceptable offer, according to Beren Cross.

The Whites were relegated to the Championship on Sunday (28 May) after their 4-1 loss at Elland Road to Tottenham, bringing an end to their three-year stint in the Premier League.

And despite signing a new contract with the club in April, Harrison is now expected to leave this summer with several top flight clubs showing an interest in the player’s services according to Leeds-Live.

“As a 26-year-old English winger with 21 goals and 16 assists in the Premier League across the past three seasons, Harrison is going to have a lot of suitors this summer,” he wrote (29 May).

“Despite his new contract, relegation weakens United’s hand and they will not stand in the way of Harrison’s career if the right offer comes in.”

Expected

Harrison is one of the few players at Elland Road this season who have proved that they belong in the Premier League with his performances.

A constant and willing runner with an end product, he never stops working for the team and it has been a pleasure to see him wear a Leeds shirt in recent years.

Unfortunately this is going to be a very regular occurrence at Leeds this summer because of relegation, and a lot of our best players are going to end up playing their football elsewhere.

Harrison is likely to have plenty of suitors, and the new contract he signed in April will mean that we are going to be due a more than fair transfer fee in return for letting him go.

It’s a shame, but he has done his stint in the Championship with us and is too good to not be in the top flight, so we’ll wish him well and hope he does himself proud wherever he goes.
