Leeds United offer for Matt O’Riley on the cards as Celtic transfer stance emerges

Leeds United could make an offer for Celtic star Matt O’Riley if they are promoted to the Premier League this season.

That is according to GIVEMESPORT, with the publication reporting on Saturday (23 March) that Celtic would be tempted to sell him if they can bring in enough money for his services.

GIVEMESPORT added that the Scottish club hold all the cards regarding such a sale, given how O’Riley still has three years remaining on his contract.

Can Leeds United win the race for Celtic star Matt O’Riley?

There looks certain to be a transfer battle for the Celtic ace in the summer transfer window, even with his lengthy contract in Scotland.

The Bhoys will, of course, be keen to keep hold of the 23-year-old, who made his Denmark debut in a Euro 2024 qualifier against Northern Ireland in November.

He was left on the bench for his nation in their most recent friendly clash with Switzerland on Saturday, but plenty of appearances can be expected in the near future.

The midfielder has been very busy under Brendan Rodgers this season, making 39 appearances in all competitions so far.

And he has certainly taken his creativity to the next level, with O’Riley boasting superb tallies of 11 goals and 15 assists.

If the Whites do clinch promotion this season, which does look very likely, then Daniel Farke will undoubtedly be keen to improve his options as soon as possible.

And that could mean an early swoop for O’Riley, who has already played in England with Fulham and MK Dons.
