Leeds United now open to Willy Gnonto sale in January, six clubs want to sign him
Leeds United are now open to selling forward Willy Gnonto in January despite previously blocking a transfer in the summer window, according to HITC.
The news outlet reported on its website on Monday (8 January) that Premier League side West Ham could make an approach to sign the Italian international.
It added that Serie A clubs Roma, AC Milan, Atalanta, Napoli and Lazio have all declared their interest in signing the 19-year-old on loan, but that it is “unclear” whether the Whites would sanction a temporary move.

Difficult
This isn’t an easy situation for Leeds to manage as Gnonto will have been expecting to be more involved this season after the club didn’t allow him to leave last summer.
While he’s earned a couple of starts over the past few weeks, the winger still appears to be behind Dan James and Crysencio Summerville in the pecking order at Elland Road.
That’s due to the fact that he’s only registered one goal and one assist in his 22 outings this season, with the ankle injury he picked up against Hull City in September causing him to lose his starting spot.

Daniel Farke probably won’t want to lose any first-team players during the transfer window, but if the Italian is becoming frustrated at his lack of opportunities, it could be best to move him on to ensure a problem doesn’t arise that could have an impact on the Whites’ promotion bid.
Although a loan deal could give the club time to think over their long-term stance on the player, now could be the best time to cash in on him while his value is likely to still be high following his exploits last season.
