Leeds United now face Middlesbrough and Coventry City competition for Rangers ace Glen Kamara as talks held

Leeds United are now facing competition from other Championship clubs to sign Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara, according to TEAMtalk.

The news outlet tweeted on 21 August that Middlesbrough and Coventry City have both held talks to sign the Finland international alongside the Whites.

The 27-year-old midfielder has been deemed surplus to requirements at Ibrox after falling down the pecking order under Gers boss Michael Beale.

It has to be incredibly disappointing for Leeds fans to see that a deal for Kamara hasn’t been completed yet and that other clubs are now interested in signing him.

The Yorkshire Evening Post first reported the Whites’ interest in signing the midfielder on 21 July and it looks as though they are still no closer to completing a deal for him.

It’s becoming more unlikely that Daniel Farke will be able to mount a genuine promotion challenge this season with the ongoing uncertainty around players at the club and the lack of additions during this transfer window.

Speaking to The Daily Mail on 16 August, former Elland Road favourite Ross McCormack said he thought the Finn would “definitely be worth Leeds taking the chance on” as a £4million switch has been mooted.

But the West Yorkshire club have taken too much time in trying to seal a deal for the midfielder and it would be criminal if they missed on him to a Championship rival – something that is now looking like a distinct possibility.

In other Leeds United news, one player could be set to be offered a new contract despite wanting to leave the club.
