Leeds United need to sign more players this window - David Seaman

Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman believes that Leeds United need to sign a few more players before the end of the current transfer window.

The Whites have been very active in the market, having signed as many as five first-team players to bolster the squad ahead of the next campaign.

However, Seaman, in a Seaman Says podcast, stated that Leeds need to make a move now, especially after an injury to Patrick Bamford.

“For Leeds, I still feel they need to do a little bit more business, especially with Bamford now, he got injured again,” he said.

“We saw that he was a massive miss last season, so maybe they need to go in and do something about that.

“There is a lot of new players and hopefully they’re slowly getting used to each other. But they’re still being Leeds, it’s entertaining football, they’re scoring goals but they’re letting them in still.”

Leeds had a difficult campaign last time around where they narrowly managed to escape relegation. One of the key reasons why it all came down to the final day of the league campaign was because Leeds did not have an outright striker to replace injured Bamford.

Therefore, it is absolutely critical that they must sign a player who can be a backup for the 28-year-old or else they might face a similar situation this season as well, something manager Jesse Marsch will be hoping to avoid considering how difficult it was for Leeds to keep their place in the Premier League.

Bamford has been a Leeds player since the summer of 2018 when he moved from Middlesbrough in a deal worth £7.11 million.

Since then, he has represented his current club in 122 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score 45 times and provided 17 assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
