Leeds United move for Max Aarons in final stages, Daniel Farke pushing for deal – Fabrizio Romano
Leeds United and Norwich are in the final stages of talks over a deal for Max Aarons with Daniel Farke pushing for the transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (9 August), the reliable transfer journalist reports that the Whites are confident of completing a deal for the right-back.
Manager Farke has worked with Aarons for years during their time together at Carrow Road and wants to reunite at Elland Road, with a deal now close to completion.
“Leeds are confident to complete Max Aarons deal from Norwich with Farke pushing to make it happen – it’s now advancing to final stages,” he wrote.
“Joe Rodon loan deal completed from Spurs and now focus on Aarons, first called by Phil Hay today.”
Excellent
Leeds need defensive reinforcements urgently and Aarons has been one of the best defenders in the Championship for years.
Despite still being relatively young he has got plenty of first-team experience and has played in the Premier League before, making him a great addition, and he’ll know exactly what to expect when he rocks up at Thorp Arch.

He knows the manager well, but showed during the summer with England’s Under-21’s that he is more than capable of playing at left-back regularly as they won the European Championships.
That fills a big problem position while also providing added quality and depth in his natural right-back role to compete with Luke Ayling and Cody Drameh.
It’s a picture perfect signing for the club and to beat Premier League sides to his signature is a statement for the upcoming season. Well done to all involved and hopefully we can get it over the line before Birmingham this weekend.
