Leeds United move for Adam Hlozek mooted amid Crysencio Summerville exit latest
Leeds United hold little chance of signing Bayer Leverkusen forward Adam Hlozek this summer, according to GiveMeSport, despite talk of a possible player-plus-cash deal involving Crysencio Summerville.
Ben Jacobs’ article [18 June] states that Hlozek – who is currently away with Czechia at Euro 2024 – is a target of several clubs having been in and out of Xabi Alonso’s team whilst claiming a Bundesliga champion’s medal.
It was reported in April that Leverkusen were interested in Crysencio Summerville [SportBILD, 10 April] and the German title winners may look to move on Hlozek as part of a deal for the sought-after Dutchman, but Leeds are favouring straight cash if they are forced to sell.
Leeds United not up for swap deal with Crysencio Summerville
Make no mistake, Hlozek is an exciting forward who despite not being the first name on Alonso’s teamsheet, did make 36 appearances last season for his dynamic, history-making Leverkusen side.
A versatile player aged just 21 and with 32 Czech caps to his name, Hlozek is a man in demand but it’s Leeds’ financial situation that is likely to scupper what would otherwise be a tantalising move, and certainly a silver lining to losing talisman Summerville.
With Chelsea, Liverpool and Brighton all in the mix to make Summerville their next big signing, Leeds are after the best immediate financial deal possible in order to place respite on the club for PSR purposes.

Serie A cross-city rivals Roma and Lazio are reported by Jacobs to be interested in Hlozek, who Leverkusen are reportedly willing to let go for a bargain fee, but it looks as if Leeds will have to bide their time and get a few through the exit door first.
