Leeds United may need to sell Willy Gnonto or Crysencio Summerville to fund Gabriel Sara move
Leeds United may have to sell either Crysencio Summerville or Willy Gnonto if they wish to sign Norwich midfielder Gabriel Sara, according to Graeme Bailey.
The journalist has reported for HITC on 31 July that although the Whites’ interest is there, a deal may be out of their reach financially.
Norwich are set to demand around £20million for their star man and Leeds would only be able to afford that if more sales occur.
Gabriel Sara isn’t worth the sacrifice of Leeds United star men
Summerville is by far and away one of the hottest stars in the Championship with a case even to be made very easily about the Dutchman being the best player in the league.
This was made official at the end of last term as the attacker won the second-tier Player of the Season award.
Although the 22-year-old was consistently linked with an Elland Road exit when the transfer window opened, talks around his future have died down.
West Ham are the only side to have made an offer for him [Fabrizio Romano, 26 July] and, in the case of Gnonto, Everton’s interest in the Italy international also seems to have boiled over.

The sale of the duo was likely the most expected Elland Road exit of the window. However, thanks to Archie Gray joining Tottenham, nothing ever came to fruition.
And, whilst midfield reinforcement is needed within Daniel Farke’s ranks, there are plenty of other options out there such as Ao Tanaka [LeedsLive, 31 July].
Whereas, it would be much more difficult for the club to find players of the same quality as the aforementioned duo.
