Leeds United: Max Wober transfer news emerges from Germany for permanent exit
Borussia Monchengladbach would like to sign Max Wober permanently from Leeds United this summer, but negotiations are proving very tough, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Sky Sports Germany reporter shared via his X account on 19 March that, at this stage, the price tag is set between £8.5million and £10.2million to get the deal done.
However, it is said that a permanent deal at that price would be unrealistic for the German club, despite Wober’s desire to remain at his loan club.
Will Leeds United sell Max Wober in the summer transfer window?
With the current fee proving unreachable for Monchengladbach, it looks as if Leeds will either be forced to lower their demands due to the player’s desire to remain in Germany, or he will have to give up his hopes of a move.
The news about Monchengladbach’s financial difficulties does not come as any surprise after it was recently reported that they would be unable to raise enough funds to afford Leeds’ asking price which has now been set at around £10million.
It has also been reported that, should the parties be unable to reach an agreement, he could return to Elland Road where Leeds would then entertain offers from other interested clubs looking to bring Wober in this summer.
It seems Leeds, much like the fans, would be keen to see Wober make a permanent move away from Elland Road after he was part of the group who departed as quickly as they could following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
