Leeds United make new Glen Kamara transfer decision at Elland Road

Leeds United have no interest in selling Glen Kamara this summer amid interest from Stade Rennais, according to Adam Pope.

Writing on his personal X account (3 July), the BBC Sport journalist reports that the Ligue 1 club have shown an interest [L’Equipe, 30 June] in the Finland international.

But after selling Archie Gray to Tottenham the Whites are in a strong position financially and have no intention of allowing the 28-year-old to leave Elland Road as things stand.

Leeds United must keep squad as strong as possible

The summer transfer window was always going to be difficult after missing out on promotion back to the Premier League, and the sale of Archie Gray to Tottenham only confirmed that.

But it has now left the club in a much stronger position financially which means any exits from this point are going to be on their terms, meaning other clubs will be forced to pay up.

Kamara only joined a year ago and was a key member of Farke’s side last season, so the chances of him being allowed to leave easily were always going to be slim anyway.

But with the chances of Crysencio Summerville leaving still high plus interest in a host of other key players, keeping the likes of Kamara to ensure a steady progression is imperative.

He’s experienced, proved he’s perfect for the level of the division and can help bring a young team along too with his top-level experience. Leeds have to find a way to keep him and also keep him happy.
