Leeds United make Luis Sinisterra prime target, player left out of training camp

Leeds are closing in on a £23m deal for Feyenoord winger Luis Sinisterra after he was left out of the club’s pre-season training camp in Austria, according to talkSPORT.

It was reported on Monday afternoon [July 4] that Leeds had agreed a £25m deal to bring the Colombian to Elland Road, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that personal terms had already been agreed too.

Now according to the Daily Mail [July 4], Leeds have identified Sinisterra as their prime target to replace the outgoing Raphinha who will join one of Chelsea or Barcelona this summer.

They say talks are advancing between the Whites and Feyenoord and that Leeds are hopeful or wrapping up a deal before they fly to Australia on Friday for their pre-season tour.

Feyenoord have given the player permission to talk with Leeds and have left him out of their own training camp so a deal can get done.

Raphinha was a relatively unknown commodity when he joined from Rennes two summers ago, and Sinisterra could be another leap of faith.

The 23-year-old had a brilliant season in Holland last year, bagging an incredible 23 goals and 14 assists as he helped them reach the Europa Conference League final which they lost to Jose Mourinho’s Roma side.

But now he is going to get a chance at the big time, with Jesse Marsch keen to bring in firepower to help replace the outgoing Brazilian winger who was the top scorer last season.

Bringing him in for the pre-season tour is a huge boost too as it allows him a chance to settle in with his new teammates and learn the coach’s methods before the season begins.

That will give him the best chance of reaching his best level for the team, which is something every Leeds fan will be keen to see from him should this deal go through as expected.
