Leeds United make Jayden Bogle transfer offer as Sheffield United exit update emerges
Leeds United are understood to have offered £3million for Sheffield United defender Jayden Bogle this summer, according to Alan Nixon.
The journalist reported via his Patreon page on Sunday (14 July) that the Whites’ bid is well short of the Blades’ current valuation, with add-ons likely taking their offer in the region of £3million.
Telegraph journalist Mike McGrath (13 July) reported that Daniel Farke’s side are interested in the 23-year-old, who was relegated from the Premier League with Chris Wilder’s Blades last season.
Sheffield United are understood to value Bogle at around £7million so there is some distance between the two clubs as they look to strike a deal this summer.
Will Leeds United sign Jayden Bogle in the summer transfer window?
Having lost Archie Gray and Connor Roberts in the opening weeks of the summer transfer window, Leeds United have to move quickly to try and secure a new defensive option before the Championship season gets back underway.
While Sam Byram is a more than capable operator on that side of defence and has plenty of experience at that level, his fitness record is worrying as he has never been able to stay available for an entire season without injury.
Bogle is an excellent defender who would likely be right at home in Farke’s side. The question will be whether or not Leeds and the Blades can reach an agreement that will suit all parties given the gap in valuations.

£4million isn’t a small amount of cash. The Whites will know that they could sign Bogle for nothing next term when his contract expires at Bramall Lane and therefore they will be reluctant to pay massively over the odds.
Sheffield United will be reluctant to hand one of their better players to a promotion rival for a cut-price so this deal could be very difficult to get over the line before the Championship season gets underway.
