Leeds United make Jack Clarke transfer decision after Largie Ramazani news
Leeds United look to have decided against signing Sunderland star Jack Clarke as Largie Ramazani nears a move to Elland Road, according to iNews.
The online source reported on Thursday (22 August) that, with Russell Martin ruling Southampton out of the race for Clarke, Leeds’ interest also seems to have subsided with a new transfer nearing completion.
Ramazani started his medical earlier on Thursday 22 August, as per Sky Sports, with the Almeria winger set to take Crysencio Summerville’s spot on the left flank in the first of four signings before 30 August.
Leeds United to decide against Jack Clarke signing?
While replacing the void left by Summerville’s departure to West Ham United earlier this summer, one signing will not solve the ongoing problems at Elland Road.
Fans will be extremely disappointed to see the news that Leeds have pulled the plug just eight days before the transfer window slams shut, though few have entertained the £25million price tag [TEAMtalk].
The 23-year-old was instrumental for the Black Cats last season, notching 15 goals and four assists in the Championship, but there is no way that he is worth the same as Summerville.
Clarke has already opened his record for the 2024/25 season, scoring against Cardiff City before assisting in a 4-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday, and the Whites need someone with that kind of impact.
Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto are both threats from the flanks, but after those two, there are few options on Daniel Farke’s bench, hence his desire to add four new signings before August 30 [The Athletic].

Ramazani will go some way to alleviating the concerns, but Georginio Rutter’s £40million move to Brighton has left Leeds’ attacking third of the pitch dying for reinforcements [BBC Sport].
While Clarke would add a lot of dynamism from the flank, it appears Leeds are now looking elsewhere to get new signings in before the transfer window closes.
In other Leeds United news, Daniel Farke sack calls at Elland Road have been labelled extreme after recent developments.
