Leeds United make approach to sign Fabio Carvalho as Liverpool exit update emerges from Anfield
Leeds United are among the clubs to have made an enquiry to take Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho on loan, according to the Mail on Sunday.
Fulham, Southampton, Wolves and Hull City are also named in the Mail’s print edition (7 January, pg 100) as the clubs interested in striking a temporary deal for the 21-year-old.
Carvalho spent the first half of this campaign on loan at Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig but made just 15 appearances in total before returning to Anfield.

The Mail reports that the crucial aspect of Liverpool’s decision on where to send Carvalho – once described by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp as “unbelievable” (liverpool.com, 21 April, 2023) next will depend on how much game time a club can guarantee him.
The race is on…
Leeds have been linked with a number 10 signing over the past few weeks and the rumours they want to take Carvalho on loan have certainly been gathering pace, albeit the race for his signature is going to be full of rival competitors.
What may count against Leeds is the inability to guarantee him game time. The Whites have a plethora of attacking options and by and large the front four of Joel Piroe, Georginio Rutter, Crysencio Summerville and Dan James have been brilliant.

Throw in the fact that Patrick Bamford finally got on the scoresheet last week and they still have Wilfried Gnonto in their ranks then it becomes extremely difficult to show that Carvalho will be a guaranteed starter at Elland Road.
But that part is for Daniel Farke to figure out, if Carvalho is a player he really wants to sign then he will figure out what needs to be done to convince Liverpool that Elland Road is the right place for the next stage of his development.
In other Leeds United news, Liverpool may be eyeing an Elland Road star themselves.
