Max Wober to play final game as Leeds United transfer demands emerge in Germany
Max Wober is “almost certain” to play his final game for Borussia Moenchengladbach on Saturday 18 May after Leeds United’s transfer demands were shared, according to BILD.
Writing on its website (15 May), the German news outlet reports that Gladbach are keen to make his loan move permanent but they are reluctant to pay any more than £7.7m.
Leeds, however, want £14.6m to let the Austria international leave permanently and are gambling on the fact he will have a good European Championships to push his price up further.
But if a club don’t offer at least £12.8m then “Wober will wear the Leeds shirt for at least one more season”.
Leeds United can’t be held to ransom in the transfer window
If Leeds aren’t a Premier League side next season because they fail in the playoffs, then there are going to be a host of clubs looking to pick off their best players.
It happened last year with several stars leaving on loan, including Wober, but they are all set to return to Elland Road in the summer for their futures to be re-evaluated.
However, even the players who stayed and shone this season like Crysencio Summerville, Ethan Ampadu and Georginio Rutter will be targeted and the club simply cannot afford to let them all leave.

There will have to be a hard line taken with negotiations once again, and even players who aren’t necessarily being depended on for the squad will have value.
If nobody matches that value then Daniel Farke should find a place for them in the team, because the club can’t be seen as weak in the market.
In other Leeds news, Summerville stance has been shared if the Whites aren’t promoted as Chelsea and Liverpool eye a transfer.
