Leeds United: Liam Cooper stance shared at Elland Road amid Blackburn Rovers loan interest
Liam Cooper is happy to remain at Leeds United to fight for his place under Daniel Farke, despite interest from Blackburn to take him on loan this month, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper reported via their website on 30 January that, despite the interest from Blackburn, Leeds have no plans to allow any more players to leave Elland Road after Leo Hjelde.
Djed Spence and Luke Ayling have both left the club this month, with Hjelde set to join Sunderland, but as things stand, Cooper will not be allowed to join that list.
No surprise he wants to stay
The news that Cooper would prefer to stay at Leeds despite the interest is no surprise. His contract runs out at the end of the season, so any move now would likely be the end of his time at Elland Road.
When Ayling left the club under similar circumstances earlier in the transfer window, while it was emotional, it felt slightly anti-climactic given it was an early call to end his Elland Road career when many had expected that to come in the summer.
It meant no immediate goodbye in terms of knowing he’d played his last game for Leeds, but for Cooper, that final game could come at Elland Road in the last game of the season in a potentially promotion-deciding clash against Southampton.

What better way to go out would there be for the captain than leading his side to another promotion, having done so under Marcelo Bielsa which helped to secure his name in Leeds legend and folklore.
