Leeds United: Kalvin Phillips transfer has legs at Elland Road as talk gathers pace
Talk of a move back to Leeds United for Kalvin Phillips is gathering pace, with a return to Elland Road said to be just what the struggling midfielder needs, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper shared the report in its print edition [2 April, page 62] and went on to claim Phillips is still revered at Elland Road and would be taken in by the supporters.
Having struggled since leaving Leeds to join Manchester City, and then since going on loan to West Ham, love from the fans could be what he needs after a £30million move was mooted by the Sunday Mirror [31 March].
Could Kalvin Phillips return to Leeds United this summer?
Talk about a move back to Elland Road first seemed like an easy connection to make, and not much more than that, but as time goes by and the reports continue to come, it seems a return could well be on the cards.
It was suggested that Leeds are ready to bid £30million to secure the midfielder’s signature if they are promoted to the Premier League this summer – £12million less than the fee they received for his sale.
Comparisons could be drawn to the likes of Wilfried Zaha at Crystal Palace who had a torrid time at Manchester United before returning to the South London outfit and making huge strides forward in his career at a club where he was loved and adored.

If Phillips does make the move back to Leeds, not only would it represent a big move for the club, but also a potentially career-saving move for the midfielder whose recent struggles have drawn widespread criticism.
