Leeds United join race for Koni Di Winter as brand new Juventus transfer update emerges
Leeds United are one of several English sides to have “checked in” on Juventus loanee Koni Di Winter ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Dean Jones.
The 21-year-old centre-back has spent the campaign on loan with Genoa in the Serie and his performances have seen him perk the interest of Wolves, Leicester City and West Ham United before the end of the season.
Despite the attention from Daniel Farke’s side, Sports Lens journalist Jones has revealed that Di Winter is set to complete a permanent switch to Genoa as he looks set to activate a permanent clause in his loan move.
As quoted by Give Me Sport (27 March) he said: “Any Wolves links to De Winter is interesting because I can understand why they would have needed to make contact by now.
“My information about this from checks with people in Italy is that he is expected to join Genoa permanently. As part of his move, there was a redemption obligation set at 23 appearances in Serie A, and he is currently at 22.
“Hence, I find it hard to imagine that there will be an opening for anything else to happen in that instance, but it’s an interesting rumour. I’m also told that Leicester, Leeds and West Ham have checked in on the situation.”
Will Daniel Farke strengthen the Leeds United defence in the summer transfer window?
Leeds United could do with some permanent reinforcements during the summer transfer window as there is an element of uncertainty around Elland Road at this moment in time.
While Joe Rodon has been phenomenal for the Whites during his loan spell from Tottenham, Leeds still don’t know whether they will be able to afford to sign the Welshman permanently or even win the race for his signature.

Pascal Struijk has similarly been excellent when fit, but now that Farke has confirmed his season is over it may be hard for him to hold down a consistent place in the Whites’ starting XI if he misses a portion of pre-season.
Hopefully, Leeds will manage to find a new centre-back whether that be Rodon or Di Winter this summer, but it may be hard to tempt Genoa into parting company with the 21-year-old so quickly after he joins permanently.
In other Leeds United news, Farke has been tipped to hand Sam Byram a star against Watford in the Championship
