Leeds United: Jack Clarke transfer on cards amid Crysencio Summerville exit rumours
Leeds United could re-sign Sunderland winger Jack Clarke if they earn promotion to the Premier League amid rumours surrounding Willy Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville, according to Dean Jones.
Clarke has been linked with a £20million move to the likes of West Ham as recently as January, but if Leeds are promoted, Jones has claimed he will be one they look to sign.
Both Summerville and Gnonto, meanwhile, have been subject to speculation surrounding their long-term futures at Elland Road, although the club will be desperate to keep hold of them.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jones shared: “It will depend on what happens with the likes of Summerville and Gnonto once we get to the end of the season.
“Leeds will be desperate for them to commit their future to the club again and see this through. This has been a difficult season, and if they can get out of the league, their mission has been accomplished.
“Clarke is the profile of player that they will be looking for if they do get back into the Premier League.
“The first challenge is getting back to the top flight and then figuring out what’s happening with Summerville and Gnonto and if they can keep those two.”
Could Leeds United sign Jack Clarke from Sunderland?
As Jones shared, Leeds’ priority should be to tie down their current stars to long-term deals, both to see their commitment to the club and protect their value should they eventually move away.
Given the level of interest in Clarke, it would come as a surprise if he made the switch to Leeds, but the interest is sure to be there, such is the level of his talent.
The winger, of course, left Elland Road in a move to Tottenham in 2020, before some mixed loan spells led him to Sunderland, first on a short-term deal in January 2022, and later in a permanent move that summer.

Since then, Clarke has gone from strength to strength, and is now on his most impressive season yet, having scored 15 goals and provided four assists in the league despite the inconsistent form and managerial changes at the Stadium of Light.
A return to Elland Road in the Premier League would be somewhat of a fairytale story for the winger and makes this deal more likely than it may otherwise have been.
