Leeds United instantly respond after Lucas Perri transfer approach

Besiktas have registered an interest in Leeds United goalkeeper Lucas Perri in the winter transfer window.

The Super Lig club have made an approach for the Brazilian shot-stopper, who has lost his place in the starting lineup at the Whites.

Besiktas have Perri on their shortlist as they look to sign a new goalkeeper before the 6 February deadline in Turkiye.

Daniel Farke has turned to Karl Darlow in recent weeks after the former Olympique Lyon star lost his place in the team due to errors in games, but it looks like the German manager still counts on him.

Besiktas rebuffed after Lucas Perri approach at Leeds United

Leeds have rejected advances from Besiktas to sign Perri, according to the YEP.

The news outlet reports on 30 January that while the Istanbul club had their eyes on the Brazil national, his exit from Elland Road has seemingly been ruled out before the 2 February deadline in the UK.

It’s been claimed that despite the 28-year-old dropping down in the pecking order, the Whites haven’t been tempted to part ways with him.

Farke also still has Illan Meslier in his ranks, with the French shot-stopper expected to serve as the third-choice keeper until the end of the season, with a move away unlikely at this stage.

Darlow has been decent in between the sticks for the West Yorkshire outfit in recent matches, but it remains to be seen how long he can keep Perri out of the team for.

The Wales international played a key role for the German manager towards the end of last season when Meslier was dropped to the bench, but the Premier League is a different beast.

Paraag Marathe to enrage Elland Road faithful with latest antics

Paraag Marathe is surely personally involved as Rangers pursue Joel Piroe, with the 49ers holding a stake in the Scottish side.

The Glaswegian outfit have spent a hefty sum on transfers in the last two windows, while the American owners at Leeds have been reluctant to spend much money.

Instead of working on building a competitive squad at the West Yorkshire outfit, Marathe seems too busy with the situation at Rangers.

Facundo Buonanotte is the only first-team incoming arrival at Elland Road in the winter window, which certainly doesn’t paint an encouraging picture of the owners in LS11.
