Leeds United instantly reject Crysencio Summerville bid in transfer twist

Leeds United have immediately rejected a £20m bid for Crysencio Summerville from Burnley, according to Fabrizio Romano

The transfer specialist reported via his Twitter account on Thursday (31 August) that the Whites had received the substantial bid in the last 24 hours, but it was immediately rejected with “no chance” of Leeds accepting the offer.

The 21-year-old Dutchman has scored in his only Championship appearance this season and the Whites rejected the Clarets approach immediately with no intention of allowing him to depart Elland Road before the transfer window closes.

No chance.

It is good to see the 49ers Enterprises taking a hard stance on their brightest talent at Leeds, despite also throwing the cash around themselves late on in the window.

Leeds keeping their best players is nearly as important as the new arrivals as well, with Daniel Farke putting together a squad capable of promotion.

Summerville returned from his injury against Salford in the Carabao Cup and will be heavily involved against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend if he sticks around.

You can rarely say no chance in football, with some stupid money available to clubs and who is to say that Burnley won’t return with a bid above £30million?

This is one to watch, but Leeds’ hard stance of immediately rejecting may put Burnley and any other interested clubs off making another offer between now and the deadline.

Outgoings are expected, but temporary ones with younger players set for loan exits, you cannot afford to lose big names like this with no time to replace them.
