Leeds United in talks to thrash out last-minute Joe Worrall signing amid £6m Nottingham Forest transfer news

Leeds United remain in talks with Nottingham Forest regarding a last-gasp loan deal for Joe Worrall, according to TEAMtalk.

The publication reported on its website on Thursday (1 February) that the defender is valued at £6million, and Forest want a permanent sale.

TEAMtalk added that Sheffield United are also keen on the player, with the Blades and the Whites willing to pay loan fees in order to get the move done.

Difficult

Nottingham Forest club captain Worrall started the season as a first-team regular, but he has found game time very hard to come by in recent times.

The City Ground outfit have made plenty of signings in the last few windows, with Worrall one of the unlucky players in the huge squad.

His position has perhaps unsurprisingly led to speculation regarding his future in Nottingham, but it seems that a Deadline Day move could prove difficult given the stance that his club are taking.

Leeds have already turned to the Premier League for a temporary centre-back in Joe Rodon, who arrived from Tottenham last summer.

But whether he is joined by Worrall remains to be seen, with Nottingham Forest’s league rivals Sheffield United also in the race for his signature.

The defender’s experience could be a real asset to Daniel Farke, with the 27-year-old boasting over 200 appearances across the Premier League and Championship.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are hoping for the reset of one player as contract talks continue at Elland Road.
