Leeds United in 'strongest' position for Roony Bardghji deal, Barcelona open to sale
Leeds United are said to be interested in signing Barcelona wonderkid Roony Bardghji this summer, with the Catalonian giants open to a sale.
Daniel Farke is keen on adding another left-footed attacker this summer who can play off the right, and the Swede could be the perfect man for him.
According to the Chronicle Live on Friday, the Whites hold the "strongest" and most long-standing interest in Bardghji out of all clubs in for his signature.
The likes of Sunderland, Aston Villa, Brentford and Everton are all keen on the 20-year-old Football Manager wonderkid, as Barca won't stand in his way for an exit.
Leeds could sign Bardghji if they fail to land Fulham's Harry Wilson on a free transfer, as either deal would show a huge sign of intent from the 49ers.
What is Roony Bardghji's preference?
Barcelona signed Bardghji from FC Copenhagen last summer, and he's since gone on to play 28 times for the Spanish giants this last season.
He registered six goal involvements, but wasn't always a regular starter for Hansi Flick, and with Lamine Yamal's brilliance, it could be hard for the former to get first-team minutes.
The player himself is said to prefer a loan move away from Nou Camp, as he wishes to return to the club and fight for his spot.
While that stance is understandable when playing for a club like Barcelona, the prospect of first-team Premier League football could change his mind.
The right-winger would almost certainly fit straight into Farke's plans, and could be the man to help take the Whites into Europe next season.
Leeds should be wary of past Bardghji issues
Leeds look for players to fit multiple criteria when signing them, and attitude is one of them.
During Bardghji's time in Denmark with Copenhagen, there were some early concerns over his attitude standing in the way of becoming a world-class player.
That's the potential he has, and so there will always be worries that he won't live up to the hype, just look at his Barca team-mate, Yamal.
Either way, to make it to Barcelona in the first place, he must have since screwed his head back on, as the Elland Road faithful will be excited to see how this transfer stroy develops.
