Leeds United in race to get Largie Ramazani paperwork finalised by noon Thursday

Leeds United are in a race against time to register Largie Ramazani for Friday night’s contest with Sheffield Wednesday, according to Joe Donnohue.

The Yorkshire Evening Post writer reported on X [22 August] that whilst Ramazani flew into West Yorkshire from Spain on Wednesday night, his medical and paperwork must be complete by Thursday at 12 noon to ensure he can make his debut against the Owls.

Former Manchester United youngster Ramazani is set to become Leeds’ fifth summer signing, after a £10m deal was agreed with Spanish club Almeria.

Whilst the timing of this particular fixture against Sheffield Wednesday could not be less convenient in terms of getting Ramazani ready for his first game in a Leeds United shirt, the official announcement can take place anytime as long as the paperwork is submitted and signed off.

A former academy product of the Whites’ bitter cross-Pennine rivals, the 23-year-old has made a name for himself as a diminutive and sharp forward player on the continent, playing 127 times for Almeria and featuring for his nation Belgium at Under-21 level.

Following the report that he is now in England with a medical underway, there is hope that he can feature against Danny Rohl’s Wednesday side at Hillsborough – despite Daniel Farke admitting earlier this week he did not see any new faces coming into the building before the game is played.

Leeds are under no illusions that further arrivals are needed, with Ramazani set to be the first through the door since Jayden Bogle over a month ago.

Farke and the club will also be hoping no more high-profile sales occur at Elland Road, with just 19 first-team players currently registered in the squad.
