Leeds United in pursuit of Brighton attacker Solly March
Leeds United are among a number of clubs who are keen to sign Brighton winger Solly March, according to 90min.
The football news website claims RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle and Burnley have also shown an interest in the 27-year-old.
However, it is understood that Brighton are set to keep hold of the former England Under-21 international, whose contract at the AMEX is currently set to expire next summer unless a 12-month extension is triggered [The Sun].
90min says March is set to sign a new long-term deal with the south coast club, fending off interest from the likes of Leeds.
Cross one winger off the list
Leeds have been linked with signing a new winger this summer.
According to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, Marcelo Bielsa would like to add to his wide options later in the transfer window if the right player presents itself.
March, however, doesn’t seem as though he’ll be someone who’s available if he’s about to sign a new contract.
However, if that doesn’t come off, it does seem as though he would be the kind of winger Leeds would go for.
The former Lewes player has over 110 Premier League appearances to his name and has regularly impressed for Brighton.
He has played as a left-sided wing-back at times for Graham Potter while Graeme Souness wrote on The Times website last year that the “clever” 26-year-old is ready to join a “bigger club”.
We would have liked to see March head to Elland Road this summer but we have no doubt that Victor Orta has a long list of targets who he’d like to add to the squad.
It just depends on their availability, their value and what Bielsa thinks of them as we get towards the end of the transfer window.
In other Leeds United news, this Whites forward has been spotted at another club ahead of potentially joining them.
