Leeds United in Jorgen Strand Larsen talks amid new Joel Piroe exit update
Daniel Farke could be set to improve Leeds United’s attacking options further with Jorgen Strand Larsen in his sights.
Leeds confirmed the signing of Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton just yesterday, but are already moving onto new targets.
Buonanotte spent the first half of the campaign at Chelsea, but failed to have an impact at Stamford Bridge, making just one appearance in the Premier League.
Following the addition of the exciting midfielder, Leeds are now eyeing Wolves striker Strand Larsen, as well as making a decision on the future of Joel Piroe.
Leeds make official Jorgen Strand Larsen approach
According to David Ornstein via X on Friday, Leeds have approached Wolves to make an enquiry about Strand Larsen, expressing their interest in the 25-year-old.
As of yet no offer has been made, and there is no guarantee that the Whites will submit an official bid, given their current profit and sustainability position, and the expected competition for the Norway international.
Strand Larsen was close to a move to Newcastle United last summer, but Wolves rejected approaches from Eddie Howe’s side.
The former Celta Vigo man has been linked with both Nottingham Forest and West Ham United in the January window, with the Molineux outfit now reportedly willing to sell.
Strand Larsen has only scored one Premier League goal this season, with Rob Edwards’ side sitting rock bottom of the top-flight.
What does Strand Larsen approach mean for Joel Piroe?
Piroe’s future at Leeds has come into question in recent weeks, and the fact that Farke’s side are interested in Strand Larsen would almost guarantee his exit in normal circumstances.
However, Ornstein has reported that Piroe is not expected to leave the club this month, with the 26-year-old set to remain at Elland Road and fight for his place.
The former Swansea City man is yet to find the back of the net across all competitions for the Whites this season, despite having 16 shots in total.

Piroe has been mostly limited to appearances off the bench, but even when he was handed a start as Leeds beat Derby 3-1 in the FA Cup, he missed a penalty and failed to impress.
