Leeds United in Joel Piroe exit talks as 55-time domestic title winners chase January deal
Joel Piroe is attracting interest as a result of his lack of gametime at Leeds.
Leeds United completed the signing of Facundo Buonanotte on Thursday, with more arrivals expected after the Brighton winger.
Jorgen Strand Larsen has emerged as a target for the Whites, as they look to find a new striker to complement Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However, with Piroe already suffering from a lack of minutes, Larsen’s arrival will only push him further down the pecking order, with a club now in talks over his signing.
Scottish Premiership side want Joel Piroe
Piroe has started twice for Leeds in the Premier League this season, but was handed a start in their FA Cup victory over Derby last weekend.
He missed a penalty and generally struggled to offer much in an attacking sense, with Daniel Farke unlikely to turn to him again anytime soon.
Piroe is believed to want to stay and fight for his place at Elland Road, though an exit can’t be ruled out, with Celtic now in talks.
That is according to Anthony Joseph, who has reported that Celtic would prefer a loan deal for last season’s Championship top-scorer.
Celtic are behind in the race for the Scottish Premiership title and need the additional firepower to get them back on track to win their 56th domestic league trophy.
It’s also claimed that the involvement of the 49ers could complicate any potential deal.

What has Piroe said about his Leeds future?
Had it not been for his goals last season, there is every chance that the Whites would still be in the Championship.
For that, Leeds supporters will always be grateful.
However, the brutal reality of football has seen him fall completely out of favour and attract interest as a result.
Piroe was handed a potential escape route in the summer, but he made his intentions clear, and he didn’t want to move on from Elland Road.
When speaking out on his future, he said: “I’m not thinking about leaving, or what’s going on at other clubs. All I want is to perform with Leeds in the Premier League.
“I understand that a few other clubs approached me in the summer. But the club didn’t want to let me go, and I don’t want to leave at all. I want to prove myself in this league.“
