Leeds United in hunt to sign Rangers sensation Archie Stevens
Rangers sensation Archie Stevens is being chased by Leeds United and four other English clubs in the summer transfer window, according to Football Transfers.
The Ibrox youngster is entering the final year of his contract and that has alerted the Whites, Wolves, Nottingham Forest and West Ham to his availability, while Manchester United also have historic interest.
18-year-old Stevens made his first-team debut at Ibrox in last season’s Scottish League Cup, having signed for Rangers from AFC Wimbledon’s academy in 2022.
With four Premier League clubs joining the Peacocks in the chase for Stevens’ signature, it remains to be seen which club the youngster feels would be best for his development, and which can offer Rangers the best financial package.
Leeds United can’t afford transfer bidding wars this summer
While a promising young winger would be a welcome addition to Daniel Farke’s attacking arsenal this summer, the Whites can seldom afford to be undergoing long, drawn-out transfer sagas in the coming weeks.
Failure to achieve promotion back to the Premier League not only means United have much less financial sway in the transfer market, but it also emphasises the need to complete ready-made signings that will bring guaranteed improvements to the side [Kieran Maguire].

While Stevens is a promising winger with a high career ceiling – he wouldn’t be being chased by four Premier League clubs otherwise – his lack of first-team experience makes any move to sign him ahead of the other interested clubs a financial risk.
First-choice wingers like Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville have both been tipped to complete moves away from Elland Road this summer, but given the attacking output of that duo, thrusting Stevens into the limelight as a direct replacement would be a significant misstep for Farke to make [Alex Crook].
In other Leeds United news, an Aston Villa deal to sign Crysencio Summerville is on the cards.
