Leeds United in hot pursuit of Francis Amuzu as Anderlecht exit development emerges
Leeds United want to sign Anderlecht winger Francis Amuzu but face competition from several clubs, according to journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen.
Writing on his personal Twitter account (28 July), the Belgian journalist reports that the Whites are in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature alongside Luton Town and OG Nice.
The player is said to be “high on the wishlist” at Elland Road and while no concrete offer has been made for the player yet, at least one of the club’s is preparing one.
“A boy who can count on the necessary interest and is open to a transfer is Francis Amuzu,” they wrote on their website.
“Francis Amuzu of Anderlecht is high on the wish list of Leeds , Luton Town and OGC Nice.
“There is no concrete offer yet, but at least one of the three clubs is preparing one.”
Exciting
The arrival of a forward in the wide areas is certainly not something that Leeds need to be prioritising in this transfer window, unless they’re expecting an exit or two.
Right now Daniel Farke has Wilfried Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, Jack Harrison, Georginio Rutter, Ian Poveda and Daniel James available to play in the wide areas.

The club are said to have “closed the door” on Gnonto’s exit and Harrison is injured, but the rest are likely to be at the club for the opening game of the season unless something drastic happens.
Amuzu is quick and tricky and can play in a high-energy team, and at 23 there is plenty of room for improvement and development that Leeds like in a signing.
But his arrival would surely mean there is an exit on the cards, and fans will be hoping that it isn’t one of the better players in that list of previously mentioned options as they want to push for promotion.
