The youngster is clearly highly regarded there, with Hellas Verona using the Scot as both a left-back and left midfielder.

His versatility is undoubtedly why many clubs are chasing his signature, with his current side perhaps set to be helpless when trying to convince him to stay for at least the remainder of the season.

The youngster shone at Scottish club Hibernian before his switch to Italy, having made 78 appearances for the Edinburgh side despite his age.

The defender is now approaching 40 appearances for Hellas Verona, but whether he reaches that number remains to be seen.

Leeds have already lost one full-back this month, with veteran defender Luke Ayling joining Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season.

In other Leeds United news, 49ers Enterprises have opened the door for a defender to return to Elland Road as a Whites development emerges.
