Leeds United hold talks with agent of Barcelona forward Abde Ezzalzouli, will make offer if they avoid relegation

Leeds United have held talks with the agent of Barcelona forward Abde Ezzalzouli and will make a summer bid for him if they avoid relegation, according to Sport.

The 21-year-old is currently out on loan with La Liga side Osasuna, and has scored three goals and registered two assists in 21 appearances for the club.

With his chances of breaking into the first-team at the Camp Nou slim, despite Xavi and the board rating him highly, Leeds have made contact about signing him for next season if they’re able to avoid the drop.

“His agent, Javier Garrido, has travelled to the United Kingdom and has met with Leeds United to discuss the future of the player he represents,” they wrote (14 April).

“The English side are thinking of Abde to reinforce their forward line and, if they manage to stay in the Premier League, they will make an offer for the Moroccan.”

Profile

It seems as though there is a quite obvious profile of attacker that Leeds are interested in for this summer, and Abde suits it.

He’s a pacy dribbler with a good eye for a pass and good transitions, but there is a bit of a problem with his end product and his physicality.

He’d have to learn to use his body better and be stronger if he were to join, but it seems he would also have to compete with a lot of attackers for game time which would likely be a concern.

That is of course unless players are expected to leave, which is possible with Patrick Bamford struggling to make an impact, Rodrigo entering the final year of his deal and Wilfried Gnonto linked with an exit.

It will be very interesting to see if the club push ahead with this deal, because it’s not likely to be too expensive and he’s very highly rated with Football Talent Scout lauding him as “incredible”.

In other Leeds news, a permanent exit for a first-team player is seen as “inevitable” this summer according to a report.
