Leeds United hold talks for Jaidon Anthony in £25m transfer reveal

Leeds United are looking to reinforce their attack with Burnley winger Jaidon Anthony in the winter transfer window.

With just hours left before the 2 February deadline, the English forward has emerged as one of the targets for the Whites.

Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen is currently being pursued at Elland Road, but there’s uncertainty around the West Yorkshire outfit’s move for the Norway international.

It looks like the Peacocks have other options on their radar to bolster the front line, but they’ll have to present the Clarets with a significant offer to get a deal for the 26-year-old over the line.

Burnley set £25m asking price for Leeds United target Jaidon Anthony

Burnley want to see bids of around £25million to even consider negotiating for Anthony’s transfer, according to SportsBoom.

The news outlet reports on 30 January that the Whites have held preliminary talks with the Clarets to understand their financial demands, with the Elland Road hierarchy looking to add a quality option on the wings.

It’s been claimed that Everton and Fulham are also in the race for Anthony, but the Englishman is seen as “indispensable” at Turf Moor for now.

Burnley are currently in the relegation zone, 10 points behind 17th-place Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, and they will certainly hope to keep their best players to help them avoid a return to the Championship.

Daniel Farke has eased tensions around his future at Elland Road with some impressive results of late, and the German manager is on course to guarantee the West Yorkshire outfit’s English top-flight status this season.

Daniel Farke should have only one priority before Deadline Day after Elland Road latest

Farke has confirmed that Lukas Nmecha has picked up another injury, which will undoubtedly be a cause for concern in LS11.

While the former Wolfsburg star has been a decent addition at Leeds, his consistent fitness issues are frustrating.

The situation isn’t helped by the German manager’s apparent lack of trust in Joel Piroe, placing the burden of scoring on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Farke should push 49ers Enterprises to sign a new attacker in the coming days, but only time will tell whether Anthony return to Elland Road after his loan spell in the 2023-24 season.
