Leeds United have no time to waste on Lukas Hornicek as Hull City talks reveal no-brainer price
Leeds United need to act swiftly if they are to sign Lukas Hornicek, with the shot-stopper now in talks to join newly-promoted Hull City.
The Whites have been credited with interest in the Czech Republic international, who could have his future resolved while participating in the World Cup.
It is expected that Leeds will look to add to their goalkeeper department this summer, as growing uncertainty surrounds Karl Darlow's future.
Lucas Perri was signed last summer for over £15million, but the Brazilian has yet to leave a trustworthy impression on Daniel Farke.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are both interested in signing Darlow, who is currently still in contract talks with the Whites.
However, if the 35-year-old decides to depart LS11, then it would be even more of a crying shame if Leeds were to miss out on Braga's Hornicek.
Hull City enter talks for bargain Lukas Hornicek deal amid Leeds interest
Initially, local reports suggested that the Whites would not see movement in their goalkeeping department this summer, but that stance seems to have changed.
Hornicek seems to be the likely top target for the 49ers, should they make a move to sign a new keeper this summer.
However, according to the Yorkshire Post, Hull City have now opened talks with Braga over the 23-year-old, with discussions around a £12.5million deal now taking place.
The deal would see the Tigers sign the 6,6" shot-stopper for £12.5m, before any included add-ons.
When considering the price that Leeds paid for Perri, it would be a no-brainer to pay around the same, if not less, for Hornicek, but they need to act soon.
If they don't, Hull will gladly bring him to the Premier League, especially after his recent rise in Portugal, which earned him a spot in Czech Republic's squad for the World Cup at such a young age.
Karl Darlow future to be resolved by this date
Darlow remains in talks over a contract extension with Leeds, as Man United have emerged the frontrunners to sign the Welshman, if he were to leave.
However, Leeds should realise that if they have not agreed on new terms with the former Newcastle man by the end of June, then they should look elsewhere.
Many would suggest that he should be given another full season as the number one choice in between the sticks, but a replacement will be needed for him one way or another.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Darlow, and the same goes for Perri, who could leave Elland Road just 12 months after signing for the West Yorskhire club.
