Leeds United have met asking price for Charles De Ketelaere, player wants Milan

Leeds have met the £25m asking price for Club Brugges forward Charles De Ketelaere, with the Belgian’s already looking for a replacement according to Relevo.

The Whites have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old forward, as they target a new forward for their squad. Fabrizio Romano has reported of a bid worth over £25.7m, but Brugges had rejected that offer.

Now according to Relevo, it’s believed that Leeds’ bid actually met the asking price of the Belgian club but the player is prioritising a move to AC Milan and has a contract agreement until 2027 in place.

There is still no agreement between Brugges and Milan however, but the club have accepted that the player will leave in this window and have already begun the search for a replacement.

Should a move to Milan not materialise Leeds would still be in the race, but whether the player is open to a move or not remains to be seen.

No shock

It seems that Leeds want one more big signing, and De Ketelaere certainly fits the bill for that but he doesn’t seem too keen on the move.

If that is the case, then the club should absolutely be looking to move on to alternative targets as the last thing we need is someone not entirely committed to the cause.

Preferring a move that would allow him to play Champions League football for the champions of Italy isn’t a shock, and if we’ve matched the asking price then there isn’t much more we can do at this point.

The business in this transfer window has been done swiftly and filled plenty of problem areas while also replacing outgoing stars, so there is plenty to be positive about.

But this deal seems like it’s going nowhere and if another attacker is wanted, then it’s time to move on to trying for them instead.

In other Leeds news, the end is in sight of the big summer transfer saga as Barcelona submit final offer for Raphinha.
