Crysencio Summerville transfer twist emerges at West Ham and Leeds United

Fabrizio Romano believes that West Ham will likely do “something else” rather than sign Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville before 30 August.

Speaking to GiveMeSport on 29 July, Romano explained that although Summerville remains on the Hammers’ list, he expects them to go for other targets.

This comes after the Dutchman has been consistently linked with an Elland Road exit throughout the current transfer window.

“Crysencio Summerville remains one of the players that they like in general,” he said. “I think West Ham will do something else, for sure, on the market in that position.”

Leeds United to keep Crysencio Summerville at Elland Road

Last season was arguably the best of Summerville’s career. After a disappointing turnout in the Premier League during the 2022/23 campaign, the winger showed his class during 2023/24.

He was crowned the Championship Player of the Season after managing to contribute 31 goals across all competitions.

Thanks to this stellar form alongside Leeds’ need to make a big sale at the start of the summer window, there were plenty of rumours regarding his future [Ben Jacobs, 24 June].

However, as Archie Gray was sold to Tottenham, the Whites’ need for a sale was squashed and put the club in a far stronger negotiating position.

This has meant that the club has been able to say no to low-ball offers and hold out for the fee they believe he’s worth.

As the club narrowly missed out on promotion last term, there’s no doubt that they will be looking for a top-two finish this season to guarantee their Premier League status.
