Leeds United: Georginio Rutter transfer update shared

Leeds United attacker Georginio Rutter is likely to be on the radar of clubs in the summer, according to Dean Jones.

The former Eurosport journalist told Give Me Sport [22 March] that while Willy Gnonto and Georginio Rutter are likely to leave in the event of no promotion, the Frenchman is expected to be in demand.

It’s understood that the 21-year-old, who is currently injured and out of training, would want to play in the Premier League, which can even be achieved at Elland Road.

Jones said: “Rutter was a big deal when Leeds signed him, and obviously, he got off to a slow start, but things are going well now. He’s played almost every match for Leeds and will feel a big part of it. He will be motivated to get back to the Premier League, and at the moment, it’s looking like he will be able to achieve that with Leeds, and I think that would be ideal for him.

“But if Leeds weren’t promoted, we might see a few clubs looking at him. I’m not saying he would leave, but this is a big moment for Leeds, and failure to get up could lead to the threat of the side falling apart a little. Gnonto and Summerville would likely leave, and I’d throw Rutter in there as someone who would attract interest.”

Leeds United may receive bids for Rutter if they fail to get promoted

Securing promotion to the Premier League is imperative for Leeds United to retain the services of Rutter.

His impact on the team has been significant this season, contributing not only with goals but also providing crucial assists.

With 15 assists and six league goals to his name, he has been instrumental in their campaign, playing a pivotal role in their position at the top of the Championship standings.

Retaining Rutter becomes even more crucial considering the potential departure of other key players like Gnonto and Summerville in the event of non-promotion.

The Frenchman’s versatility and contributions have made him an integral part of the squad, and his presence will be vital for Leeds United’s aspirations in the Premier League.
