Leeds United flurry of striker interest could mean Elland Road exits are close

Leeds United have been linked with a host of strikers in recent days – and that could mean a loan exit for some of the younger talents at Elland Road.

The Sun’s Alan Nixon reported on Wednesday 24 August (via his Patreon) that Wolves striker Hwang Hee-Chan is being eyed by Jesse Marsch.

Nixon has also revealed that Blackburn Rovers expect Leeds United to come back with an improved bid for Chile striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

Finally, 90Min has suggested that Leeds are keen on Newcastle United target Joao Pedro, who looks set to leave Watford this summer.

It is beginning to look increasingly likely that Marsch will add another striker to his ranks in the coming weeks, with Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo his go-to front men at present.

Rodrigo’s early season form has caught everyone by surprise, with the Spaniard now a shoo-in to start for Leeds for the foreseeable future.

Bamford has always been a classy operator for Leeds and if the 28-year-old can stay fit, he will score goals for the Yorkshire side this season.

If another striker does enter the fray at Elland Road, then we could well see one of Sonny Perkins or even Sam Greenwood leave the club on loan.

Leeds have not been afraid to send their younger talent out to EFL clubs this summer, with Charlie Cresswell and Jamie Shackleton both heading to Championship club Millwall.

Lewis Bate has also left Elland Road, joining League One side Oxford United on a season long-loan.

Perkins is a player who could well be sent out in search of first-team football, with the former West Ham youngster experienced in the under-23 set-up.

Regardless of the five sub-rule, the 18-year-old is unlikely to see a large amount of game time for the Whites over the coming season.

Greenwood would definitely be less likely to leave the club this summer, but it’s important to remember that the forward is only 20 and has plenty of time to develop further.

Hopefully, with the five sub-rule now in place, the 20-year-old will feature more regularly in first-team plans

In other Leeds United news, a Sky Sports journalist has dropped a £60million update on this Elland Road ace as a bid is reportedly made for him.
