Leeds United ‘finally set to sign Rodrigo Muniz’ after new transfer reveal

Rodrigo Muniz could still become the blockbuster signing of the summer for Leeds United.

The Brazilian star was the subject of a £32million bid from Elland Road earlier in the window, but Fulham rejected that offer rather quickly.

With that rejection, it appears as though Leeds will need to smash their transfer record to get a deal over the line, which is currently Georginio Rutter.

The 49ers Enterprises have preferred to keep their business quiet so far this summer, and despite frustrations from fans, that is possibly helping deals such as Muniz.

Muniz could still join Leeds United quietly

Graham Smyth has shared that the public nature of their chase for Hoffenheim star Anton Stach has complicated negotiations, which won’t help matters.

With Fulham looking at new strikers themselves, it could open the door privately for the Americans to swoop in and bring him to Leeds out of the blue.

Writing for the Yorkshire Evening Post, he said: “Similarly, they have not abandoned their belief that a deal can be struck with Fulham for Rodrigo Muniz.

“Remaining at the hopeful stage for priority targets at this stage is not a disaster. Not if the hopes are ultimately rewarded with done deals. Things can change very quickly.”

Leeds must go all out for Muniz

Joel Piroe is facing unfair questions right now around his ability, especially given the heavy load he needed to carry in the Championship.

Patrick Bamford may have returned to pre-season in fantastic shape, but the truth is, injuries hit him hard and he failed to score last campaign.

Mateo Joseph is also facing the exit door with a return to Spain on the cards, so all roads are currently leading to Muniz becoming the main man.

That is, if the 49ers put their money where their mouths are.

Marathe admitted he will spend every last penny possible this summer, so there is still confidence that happens; these things just take time.

Muniz is an ambitious target, but if hope remains after weeks of talks and a bid being turned down, they must have been given positive signs that a deal can be done.

With things changing very quickly in the transfer window, this one could be done out of nowhere.
